Oh, hey, Tumblr! Guess what?
It’s Wrong Day Wednesday today!
the "cats slowblink to show affection so i do it back so they know it's reciprocated" to "i just reflexively slow blinked at a human being" pipeline
The fun part is when the human slow blinks back. This has happened.
My “draw the squad” memes so far

Piracy 🤝 Physical Media 🤝 Libraries
Physical media has two hands 😌
As Charles Stross said, we used to have a word for people who collected media and organized it and made it available to everyone for free. We called them "Librarians".
Pirates and Librarians and Archivists aren't different types of people, they're different sides of the same coin. Pirate if you have to, Archive if it's at risk, Library...ize? If you can.
okay the lack of a verb for "Library" slightly ruins the metaphor. But the point is: Librarians make sure everyone can access it. Archivists make sure it will always exist. Pirates make sure it can be gotten for free, without limitations. We need all these roles at different times, and they all work together.
Remember, if you've seen Nosferatu, the super influential silent horror film, it's because of piracy. All the "legal" copies were destroyed. Archivists made sure the pirated copies lasted. And Librarians made sure you could easily watch a copy.
Aaand not another plushie ad 🙈 But these are fun to do and I love the plush A LOT, so!
The campaign has been extended by 10 days which is super cool! Here’s the link if you want a pink vermin of your own:
I live in my own head rent free.
Just, you know, with a lot of roommates.
society's infantilization of decorated objects is honestly one of the greatest recent crimes against humans' innate desire for beauty
"the toothbrush/hairbrush/bike/vanity desk with flowers on it is For Kids! this plain beige one is For Adults!"
I am literally throwing you into a volcano
May you live a thousand years
A man who helped return a 140-year-old Tlingit robe to the British Columbia First Nation where it was created says it’s as if the regalia called out to its people and they are bringing it home.
The intricately woven Chilkat robe, made of mountain goat wool and yellow cedar bark, was purchased by the Taku River Tlingit First Nation in northwestern B.C. for almost $40,000 after it went up for sale online by a Toronto-based auction house last year.
The robe arrived in Whitehorse Wednesday and will travel 175 kilometres south to the First Nation’s traditional territory in Atlin, B.C., where it’s expected to go on display and may be used in future ceremonies.
While the community celebrates the return of a piece of its heritage, the First Nation said Indigenous people should not be forced to buy back regalia that was stolen from them. [...]

looked up if there are any donation options to support the community. there is a gofundme for this robe specifically, and also the Takhu Á Tlén Conservancy which gives support to the Taku River Tlingit First Nation and their traditional territory.
no one should have to pay out of their own pocket just to get their history back.
Hello lovely plurals, medians, multiples, and systems of all sorts! We’re a disordered DID system and an aspiring infographic maker. If you enjoyed our infographic on depersonalization vs. derealization, you’re in luck - because we want to make another infographic in the future!
For this infographic, we’d like to go over some of the differences between disordered and nondisordered plural experiences. We know this can be incredibly personal and vary from system to system, but having a baseline of what disordered plurality and nondisordered plurality could both look like may be useful for a lot of folks!
We have an idea of what nondisordered plurality could look like, but in order to remove some of the guesswork and gather a wider range of experiences than our own to draw on, we’d like to reach out for help!
If anyone would be willing to share some of what their experience is like (either as a disordered system, a nondisordered system, or a partially disordered system), we would be super grateful!! You can share your experiences in one of a few ways:
We are breaking the infographic into these sections (which are subject to change) and would appreciate info from as many categories as you’d like!
In your response you are more than welcome to recommend more categories! You can also share experiences that don’t fit neatly into the above categories.
Any and all systems are encouraged to share their experiences!! What makes your system disordered? What makes it nondisordered? Why do you personally consider your system disordered, nondisordered, or something in between? We’d appreciate any information you have to offer!
Thanks so much everyone! Once we’ve gotten enough feedback, we’ll put the infographic together.
We are reblogging this now because we want to answer it later.
Until then, we are going to answer this as a recovered system, one that was disordered and that is now non-disordered (kind-of).
But we want to note that we HATE the phrase “disordered system”. A LOT. We’ll explain the reason why at the end of our answer (or in a separate reblog), and you can skip it if you like.
